After almost seven months of voting, international and local campaigns , songs and ads 07/07/07 finally came, and with it came the declaration of the new seven wonders. To tell you the truth, I so wanted Petra to win, I did, with all of my heart, we kept voting all throughout the past couple of months, I witnessed the enthusiasm of the Jordanian people, the huge campaigns, but I still had my doubts. Around thirty minutes ago I was probably the proudest person on earth, Hillary Swank asked two kids from the S.O.S organization to declare the winner of the second place; Petra of Jordan. The reaction of our minister of tourism Mr Al Dabbas -our representative in Lesbon- was so spontaneous, natural, real and touching, his eyes glowed with happiness and pride, the sight of Petra on the screen with the word “Mabrouk” typed up with the same font the Jordanian TV has been using for the past century and people waving the Jordanian flag gave me Goosebumps, unlike the sight of the representatives of China who were up on the stage seconds before our minister, they looked angry and scary! LOL!
Mabrouk ya Ordon! ![]()
This day can’t get any better, unless of course our football team wins the match against Spain that is currently taking place *Fingers Crossed*.
